This Ingredient Policy applies to all Demorr products sold through demorr.in. It explains how we think about ingredient safety, labelling and transparency. Please read it together with our Product Disclaimer.

Safety and Compliance

Demorr hair care products are cosmetics, and we make and label them in India in line with the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 and the Cosmetics Rules, 2020, the applicable standards of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), and the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011. Our in-house R&D team develops our formulas, and every product goes through quality and stability checks before it is sold. Our products are also tested on Indian hair, because the climate, water and styling habits here are different from other markets.

Ingredient List on Every Pack

The complete ingredient list (INCI) is printed on each product pack, listed from the highest to the lowest amount. It is also given on the product page where available. The pack is always the most up-to-date and final source of information, because formulas can be updated and new packaging may reach customers before the Platform is updated. Please read the ingredient list before you buy and use a product.

Key Ingredients and Claims

We highlight ingredients that are important to a product, such as keratin, collagen, biotin, rosemary, macadamia oil or silk protein. A highlighted ingredient is named because it is part of the formula, and we describe what it is generally used for in hair care. This is not a promise of a particular result.

Claims such as “vegan”, “sulphate-free” and “paraben-free” are made for the products that carry them on their pack or product page. Please check the label and the ingredient list of the specific product if one of these matters to you, because not every claim applies to every product.

Preservatives

Water-based products need preservatives to stay safe and free from germs during use. We use preservatives that are permitted under Indian regulations, at amounts within the permitted limits. Our products do not use parabens where a product is labelled paraben-free.

Fragrance and Allergens

Some products contain fragrance or plant extracts and essential oils such as rosemary. Even natural ingredients can cause reactions in some people. We list known allergens and cautions on the label where required. If you have sensitive skin or a known allergy, please read the ingredient list and do a patch test first.

Vegan Products and Animal Testing

Products labelled vegan are made without animal-derived ingredients. We do not test our products on animals, and animal testing of cosmetics is prohibited in India. If you want to check a specific product, please write to us.

Patch Test and External Use

We recommend a patch test before first use. Apply a little product to the inner forearm or behind the ear and wait 24 to 48 hours. Stop using the product and consult a doctor if you notice redness, itching or irritation. Demorr hair care products are for external use on hair and scalp only. Avoid contact with the eyes.

Packaging

We choose packaging to protect the product, to keep it compatible with the formula and, wherever practical, to be recyclable. Please dispose of empty packs responsibly through your local waste collection or recycling system.
